Despite its short history, with only three seasons behind us, POC is available in more than 30 countries and has set its marks by POC athletes piling up Olympic, X-Games and World Champion titles, together with POC humbly receiving numerous international Design, Conceptual and Strategic Business Awards.
The POC Chamonix store is a first mini flag ship store, located in the heart of European skiing. The ambition is to be able to visualize the whole assortment in a POCish environment, together with highly skilled personnel, to share complex product information involving, R&D, function, medical aspects, technical information i.e. engineering, construction and materials, patents and purpose. The store is located in the center of the village on 270 rue du Docteur Paccard, Chamonix´s main street.
The POC store is a mono brand store, except for a limited Apple assortment, carrying iPods, iTouches and iPhones, with assorted spares and associated products.
The POC store concept was developed by Swedish architect firm Spacewalk www.spacewalk.com in collaboration with POC' s in-house design team. The brief was simple: for the architects to gestalt a store environment from the exact same formula constituting POC as a company: The same formula that directs us when developing anything from products, print or other communication. “It´s only a matter of scale and media”.
”It´s a dream coming through”, establishing this first hub of competence, to support and to increase the knowledge transfer onto consumers. There is also the aspect of possibly inspiring other POC retailers, around the world, to establish in-depth product competence for better consumer experience, at point of purchase. Competence and knowledge transfer is one crucial corner stone in POC´s continues growth.
