Hey! I just got back from Mammoth California. I was there for 10 days with my ski team. The weather was absolutely incredible, but for the most part, the snow stayed firm. It was the best summer skiing conditions I have ever experienced.
Ski camp consists mainly of three things: skiing, eating and sleeping. This environment is not only incredibly fun but also a great time to improve on the fundamental basics in skiing. I also used camp to take advantage of ski demoing. I have always skied on used skis but this year I am trying to get a sponsorship and ski on new skis.
Deciding on skis was a lot more difficult than I had anticipated. I had to like both the slalom and the GS ski and the boot had to be a right match as well. With conditions changing daily, it was also difficult to compare skis I had demoed three days earlier. I will probably not ski again until fall camp but instead spend the rest of my summer taking summer classes at Northwestern University to make up for school time lost in the winter and getting strong for next season.
