Ski season is finally here! My first race, Eric Hays is only two weeks away and I am not even on snow yet! As a first year J3, I will be starting with 990 points and Eric Hays will be the first time I begin to knock off points and prepare myself for the rest of the year.
I raced in the IMD South series for five years and spent the last year wishing I was a J3. Now that I am one and the first race is coming up, the reality is finally soaking in. I am a J3! I am excited to have points and compete in championship races.
As excited as I am for ski season, all the training, traveling and ski tuning is a huge time commitment. During ski season, I miss lots of school and it is hard to keep up. To help ease the pressure, I have parent release for my last period everyday. I have been doing online classes throughout the summer, fall and spring to makeup for the lost credits.
Good luck to you all with your first ski races.
