Molly's Mail: Leavens takes 2 1st's and a 2nd at JO qualifiers!

I have just finished all my JO qualifiers and ended up second on the list. I had to learn the hard way about skiing smart by not finishing both days at the slalom qualifier and finishing barely any races in the beginning of the season. Turning down my intensity level, I was able to land two first places and a second at the super G qualifier. In Sun Valley, the last of the JO qualifiers, I won a second in GS and a first in slalom. It was here that I won my first over all of the season, as I have been unable to complete two days cleanly. With these last few strong finishes, I managed a spot in the top seed for all the events at JOs, meaning I will be starting in the top 15.

Just a week of training and I am off once more. This time to Squaw Valley for the Western Region JOs and I could not be more exited. I hope I can continue to finish and snag a spot on the podium.
