Much has happened since I've done the last blog. Ive had my first two races and they didn't go as well as I would have liked. In the slalom at Cochrans I got 13 overall. I made some huge mistakes and on that hill there is no room for error.
The next race was a GS at Burke. GS is my best event so I was very excited to do well in this race. The first run I got very late on the bottom but I still got a 8th place run being the fastest first year for that run. on the second run I skied very well but it was straight and so did many other people that run. I got 10th place that run and got 9th overall. I made it to ERS (eastern regional series). In the GS I had a great first run and was tied in 10 with James Ferri from KMS. The second run I was having a great run and all of a sudden I hip checked and had to push back across the hill. I still got around 25th overall.
Right after awards I went the the biggest adventure of my life, heading out to Europe. we had a 9 hour flight and I could'nt sleep at all. I finally fell asleep with 15 minutes left of the ride. GMVS then drove to the place were staying in Austria.
The first day of skiing was great. We had a powder day at Kitzbuhel. I got to ride the second highest gondola in the world. On the last run we got to ski the Hannenkahm (the most famous DH in the world). for the last 3 days we’ve skied at Hintertux and watched Ted Ligety, the Austrian team and the Swiss team.
I've got 4 more days in Europe of GS and then along ride back to Vermont. the next day is my first SuperG race of the season.
