The season has finally come to an end and the first annual Grass Roots World Cup team championship has been decided. After a tight battle all year the SRD athletes took the title over the tough Spyder Speedfreaks by a score of 2054 to 1699 points. You can see the season long points list by clicking here.
Thanks to Phil Shettig and Spyder and their great group of racers for making this a fun competition. The winning SRD team will have a donation made in their name by Spyder to the SFI Foundation. The Men's USA Alpine Team seeks to raise money for unfunded athletes through the SFI Foundation. SFI is a registered non-profit organization which provides grants to athletes in need of funding, who seek to compete at the highest levels of their sport.
Congratulations to the SRD Team: Avril Dunleavy, Kathleen Irwin, Rose Caston, Mikaela Shiffrin, Jessie Delacenserie, Katelyn Barclay, Kieffer Christianson, Ben "Moose" Morse, Taylor Shiffrin, Andreas Calabrese, Cooper Cartmill, Kyle Burcin, Andrew Hancock and Stephan Splitstoser.
The battle is now on for 2010!
