SRD athlete Mikaela Shiffrin dominated the Eastern JIII Junior Olympic at Gore Mountain, NY. The Lyme, NH skier took the slalom March 14, by a stunning 2.65 seconds over Elle Gilbert and 3.44 seconds over third finishing Hana Sydek. She was 1.3 seconds ahead of Lily Ford for the GS win March 15 and 2.57 seconds ahead of Mardene Haskell, the third place finisher.
Her only "flaw" was a third place finish in super G on St. Patrick's Day, but even that was tempered as Gilbert and Haskell tied for first.
On the men's side SRD's Kyle Burcin got the third place slalom finish. Once again great skiing from the team!
