Morse Code: C.V.A. Truck Pull Team
![]() |
| But can they pull SRD's Black Ice bus? |
Just the other day we returned from Colorado and need to get some strength back which we had lost when we were skiing. So we have been hitting the gym pretty hard for a couple of days. But after a sprint work out and an agility circuit workout my coach Chip Cocrhane pulled out some towing harnesses.
We began by just having one person holding one to the end of the harness and just towing each other across the gym. But that wasn't enough so we went out to the parking lot and towed Chip's big Doge Ram pickup truck (in the back left of picture above) around the A.G.C. which is our ware house looking work facility. But that still wasn't enough so we rode up to the dorms in the pickup truck and we tied our harnesses on the steel bumper of the bus and mushed. We pulled a yellow full size for a about 400 meters (1/4 mile) up a slight grade in some places. It was super cool to get to tow such a piece of machinery.
This was a truly outstanding feat and I would like to commend the folks we were also hitch to the bus and helped me pull it; Kyle East, Alex Hebig, Jeremy Leavitt, Drew West, Eli Pangburn, Ben Listowich, and Liz Muntia.
Sugarloaf is supposed to open this weekend and we can stopping towing buses and get on snow!

More Injuries.....
Hey everyone,
Training in Colorado has been pretty sweet. We free-skied Loveland for four days and got to see my man Sam Morse out there. We had an off-day and jumped right into SL at Vail. The injected snow was nice and firm and was really fun to ski on. The training has been really nice and I got to improve a lot, but unfortunately I was training the other day and hurt my shoulder. I separated my shoulder and sprained my AC joint in my shoulder. I should be back to full recovery in about 3 weeks.

MRI's, PCL's, LCL's and more!
(Some serious early rise speed skis!)
Recently I have been training a lot on snow in Vail Colorado. I was surprised to see that the snow coverage here is remarkable. We have been able to run full length GS courses for over two weeks now.
About a week ago I was in a pretty serious SG crash in which I destroyed my brand new skis. To be honest I was more worried about my skis after I crashed, then my aching knee. I ended up in the hospital, where I had to see a knee specialist and get MRI's. Apparently it's not to serious, just loose PCL and LCL ligaments. The doctors told me I would probably only miss two to three weeks on snow, which was actually quite a relief considering I almost wasn't allowed to ski the rest of the season. I then decided to ignore my doctors and I got on snow 4 days later. It probably wasn't my smartest decision, however, my knee feels strong and I'm feeling well.
Tomorrow is the first FIS race of the season and I hope to place pretty well. Last year I started 133rd and moved up to 28th. This year I want to place in the top 20. I'm excited to get into race mode again and start lowering my points. My goal for the season is to get a top 5 at J2 Nationals, and hopefully get my GS points down to about 45.
Thanks for the opportunity to race for SRD again this season.

LeBlanc at the Vail Gold Peak Competition Center
Hi everyone, I had a pretty intense two weeks of skiing. Our courses were steep, icy, and cranky. The cool part was that I got to ski next to all the World Cup guys. I was watching them, and they were really smooth. They move to their outside ski early, and are off it right away.
During those two weeks, I got a chance to talk to some of the members of the U.S Ski Team. I talked to Ted Ligety, Andrew Weibrecht, and Cody Marshall. Also, the women's U.S.technical team came to our school to talk. They gave some really good advice on how to keep following your dreams, and never giving up. I will definitely use the advice, to to become more successful in my ski racing career.
