Welcome to the Team Anna Mounsey!

Hey everyone! It’s my first blog for SRD and I’m excited so here it goes!

I had an awesome 2011 summer filled with tons of rafting and kayaking. I got my first hard shell kayak this spring and although I am still figuring out my Eskimo roll, I like the new challenge!

Right after school got out I was able to head to Hood River for 6 weeks to train with the coaches and girls on the USST D Team as an invitee. I learned so much about ski racing and how much it takes to go far with this sport; it’s crazy -but definitely really helpful.

As of now, I’m currently attending Mount Si High School as a junior –taking two online classes and 4 core classes at school where I am taking Wind Ensemble (I play Bass Clarinet), Algebra 2, Chemistry and French 3! I’m having tons of fun cheering for my football team in the stands and hanging out with friends. However I’ve also been taking time out to work out and am really enjoying crossfit, as well as kickboxing!

As homecoming and Halloween approach, it only means ski season is that much closer! I can hardly wait!

SRD Welcomes our newest athlete, Gus Leblanc!

Hi everyone, it has been a great summer. I am so excited to be on the SRD team. Winter is right around the corner. Can't wait to rip it up on the slopes.

The past few weeks I have been doing some pretty intense dryland training. Some of things I do are jumping on a ball, hopping from rock to rock on one leg, and running bleachers (ect).

School has been going well. I have been working hard and studying to keep up my grade point average.

I am also excited to go to ski in Copper. I was invited because I made the RMD team. I can't believe that I will be skiing besides the best skiers in the world. In a couple days I will be going to San Diego. I am going to stand up paddle board the ocean and do some more dryland on the beach. I Can't wait! When I get back I will be going to slopes right away! See everybody on the mountain! Cheers, Gus

Morse Code: Kicking off the Fall at C.V.A.

I have really missed blogging. I just got a computer from C.V.A. and have been looking forward to writing about what has been going on.

My summer consisted of working at the Marina and waterskiing a lot. But just recently I have started my Junior year at C.V.A. The men's alpine team has been working really hard on fitness whether it is going on long runs or heavy lifts the team is committed to being in the best shape they can be for the 2011/2012 ski season.

I had my first mountain bike race this weekend and it was really cool to get back into the competitive atmosphere. I came in 5th place for JV and it was a ton of fun. C.V.A. has been great so far this year but i have something else I would like to share with you. This weekend I am having the experience of a life time, because my friend James Webber Marshall is taking me to a Boston Red Sox game.

I am looking forward to the season of snow as I am sure you all are to!
