A New Paige: World Cup Wow!

All I can say is WOW!!! I have just returned from an incredible 3 weeks at Vail (my favorite resort!!) and I had such a great trip. I worked hard to stay positive, focused, and to really make the most of the opportunity to train at Vail. I am making a few big changes in my body position this year and I feel like over these past 3 weeks it is finally starting to click. Still a lot of hard work ahead - but I feel really good about the progress I made.

The highlight of my trip was having the opportunity to go to 2 World Cup races at Beaver Creek - the men's downhill and the men's slalom. I have never been to a World Cup race before and it was AMAZING!!! The energy was unbelievable and it was really exciting to be there in person. Watching Bode win was awesome. The crowd went wild as he came through the finish and it was so cool to be part of the moment. It was so inspiring to watch the best in the world.

While I was at the men's slalom race I had the opportunity to meet Julia Mancuso. She was so incredibly nice! Julia spent awhile talking to me (I was a bit in awe) and she was so encouraging and asked me a bunch of questions about my racing. It was so cool. Needless to say it was an incredible experience - memory of a lifetime.

I am now back at SMS and am really excited for the season to start! Happy Holidays to all! Ski fast and have fun!!
