I'm psyched for the ski season this year. As a second year J3, I feel like I am on top of my game. I qualified for the Topolino Tryouts and Aspen is going to host the Wilder Dwight Super G qualifier and the JOs. My new equipment from Atomic arrived and it looks awesome and fast. Since it has snowed a little bit, it is starting to feel like ski season. Aspen's World Cup race is coming up so ... it is time to get this year rolling.
This summer I did a lot of dryland and strength work. The coaches did an individual workout plan for each of the kids in the ski club. I did a lot of weightlifting (at 6:30 am) and running.
Then I went to La Parva, Chile for two weeks to train. We trained Super-G and GS. It was really strange going from summer to full winter and La Parva is 7,000 feet above Santiago and the drive up there was crazy. There were also some intense winds that made closed the upper half of the mountain. I trained with some different coaches and it was cool to hear different opinions about technique and strategy.
See you on the hill!

Kazui's Update
As I was going to school this morning, I opened my door with shorts and a tee on. Next thing I know I am in a car that says its 26 degrees outside. I knew it had been cold from playing baseball, but I never knew it would be that cold.
I had a great time with my friends on mischief night and Halloween, you can never get too old for free candy!
I have been playing baseball during the fall to stay in shape and we just ended our season off last night. I heard that this year is gonna have great snow and this is my first year going to an academy so that's something special.
I go to Colorado with Stratton Mountain School in November and I am so pumped. I can't wait to ski again and go see the Beaver Creek World Cup in December. Hope to see everyone there!

Serena in Patsch Austria
Hintertux Glacier, Austria
Hey SRD!:) This summer has been great so far. I have been doing dryland almost everyday in the week and hopefully getting stronger.
For the whole month of October I have been up in Patsch Austria with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. We have been training in Stubai and the snow there has been great! While I was there we got 50 cm. of snow and got snowed in at our little town in Patsch!
We also saw the mens run in Soelden which was pretty intense unfortunately there second run got canceled do to snow and fog. Toward the end of our training we got to go down to Pitztal which was a great experience becaues it was by far the steepest and iciest SG I had ever trained!
I'm so excited to go down and train in Loveland on the 6th of November with NDS!
